* Edit: The lovely creater of this image contacted me, thier blog is here and their etsy shop where you can buy this and similar items is here *

I am not a talented drawer, so I tried recreating this piece of art in my own simplistic way. I personally think it turned out quite well!
I cannot stress to you how quick and easy it was to do. Just use double sided sticky tape to secure your wax crayons to your canvas, then stick your hair dryer on high heat, low flow, and watch the wax melt before your eyes. Use the cool setting on your hairdryer to help set the wax quickly.
On reflection I would space your crayons out a bit to reduce the drips merging into one.

What beautiful fun!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! My daughter tried to do this, but just made a mess - on the bathroom sink!!! UGH!
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your take on the crayon art! I was just Stumbling and found this which is really awesome because the original picture is the first one I ever did about a year ago. Check out my blog if you would like to - http://captainneenmo.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/its-razzmatazz-in-every-language/
ReplyDeleteI know this post is older and so this probably doesn't apply anymore, but messes are super easy to clean up if you can wait for the wax to get cold and take a razor blade to it, especially if it's something smooth like a bathroom sink. Believe me, I have made many a mess in the last year!
It looks like this is from here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ccasto7?ref=seller_info
ReplyDeleteI googled the picture. The person sells them.
